Trout fishing in our stocked lakes
One of the most loved activities at Clover Cottage Retreat is trout fishing in our stocked lakes.
Whether you are introducing the kids to fishing for the first time or enjoying a quiet cast by the water, trout fishing is a wonderful way to slow down and enjoy the country setting. There is something very special about watching children wait patiently, cheer loudly and proudly tell everyone about “the one that nearly got away”.

Tennis, country style
Pack your racquets, sneakers and a sense of humour — our grass tennis court is ready for family fun.
You do not need to be a champion. In fact, the best games are often the ones with missed shots, big laughs and very flexible rules. Tennis is a great way for families, couples and groups to enjoy some friendly competition during their stay.
Donkey walks with Holly and Honeysuckle
A visit to Clover Cottage Retreat would not be complete without meeting our much-loved miniature donkeys, Holly and Honeysuckle.
Our donkey walks are a favourite with children and adults alike. They are gentle, full of personality and always happy to be admired. Walking with the donkeys is one of those simple country experiences that guests remember long after they go home.
For families looking for animal experiences near Manjimup, this is a beautiful way to enjoy the slower pace of country life.
Feeding the alpacas
Our alpacas are another favourite with guests.
Feeding the alpacas is a lovely hands-on activity for children and families, giving everyone the chance to get close to these curious and charming animals. It is the kind of experience that makes a country holiday feel extra special.
Just bring your camera — alpacas have a way of creating very funny family photos.
Bushwalks and fresh country air
Clover Cottage Retreat is surrounded by natural beauty, making it ideal for families who love to explore outdoors.
Enjoy peaceful bushwalks, listen to the birds, wander through the property, follow the river valley views and take time to reconnect with nature. There is no need to rush. This is the sort of place where gumboots, jackets, curious children and muddy adventures are all part of the fun.
If you are looking for family accommodation near Manjimup with nature walks, Clover Cottage Retreat is a wonderful base for slowing down and exploring the Southern Forests region.
Gather around the communal fire pit
There is something magical about gathering around a communal fire pit in the country.
It is the perfect place to sit together, share stories, toast marshmallows, meet other guests or simply enjoy the warmth of the fire under the night sky.
For families, groups and multi-generational holidays, the fire pit is often where the best conversations happen.
Board games, cosy cottages and simple family fun
After a day of fishing, canoeing, walking and animal feeding, it is time to head back to your cottage, light the fire and enjoy some old-fashioned family fun.
Bring out the board games, make a cup of tea or hot chocolate, and enjoy the kind of evening that does not need screens, schedules or rushing.
Clover Cottage Retreat is all about simple pleasures — cosy cottages, fresh air, family time and country activities that bring everyone together.
