Fly Fishing in the Spring in the Southern Forest

Early morning rise and a fly rod!Mike Roennfeldt, Western Australian Newspaper fishing writer, spent  several days at Clover Cottage   wallowing in water and trout.  It was wonderful having Mike and Sarah spend time with us having lots of laughs and enjoying the local wines. While Sarah and I checked out the Country Gardens on display,  Mike used every spare moment to slip over to the Balbarrup lake  for a spot of trout fishing or try his luck on the trout ponds at Clover Cottage.

What a beautiful location.  So peaceful and such a great place to get away from civilisation for a few days.  Managed to catch a couple of trout which was fun.  A few places to check out while you are down this way: The Wine and Truffle Company.   Food was amazing .   Also Jarrah Jacks in PEmberton.  Top notch beers, food and service.  Nothing better than being able to fish throughout the the morning.  Visit wineries/restaurant throughout the day and then getting cosy by the fireside with a bottle of shiraz.  Sensational place.

Clover Cottage we will be back!!
