Enjoy the Journey!

When you are venturing down to the Southern Forest  heading for Pemberton or Manjimup,  remember the country experience can be explored as you hit the South West Highway!   If you are passing through Kirup on a Thursday, Friday or the weekend a stop at Newies Fresh Produce Store  is a must!  A local farming family grow most of the produce which is SOoooo fresh and they also stock local gourmet and meat products.  All the food is presented with flair and a definite country style!

Not only is Balingup a delightful town to be admired with it’s scarecrows,  rustic orginal buildings and  gardens, but it is also the home of the well known Tinderbox herbal store and laboratory where safe effective herbal products are created and available to test and purchase.  For more information about Tinderbox check out their website  http://www.cheekyherbs.com/      Before you leave the little town drop into one of the several foodie places for a light lunch and a coffee.

Next  place to pause for awhile is Bridgetown where there are lots of delightful quaint shops for the person who likes to browse and discover that special gift!  And for the serious shopper you can’t go past Ford House and Wags Emporium.  It’s just before the  Bridgetown Bridge.  Visit http://www.fordhouse.com/WAG%20Walters.htm  for a peek at what is on offer.  Before you head out to your accommodation at Clover Cottage,   visit the local ‘Alfs Store’ in Manjimup to stock up with any  fruit, vegies and other essential items!  This store also  grows a majority of it’s produce locally and stocks local foods!  By now you are ready to head out your accommodation at Clover Cottage Country Retreat.  Remember to turn into Muirs Highway at the large roundabout.  Just a reminder there is no  reliable mobile phone  coverage once you leave the town.  We look forward to your safe arrival!

Hear from our guests

30/6/12

Perfection is the only word to describe our stay!  So peaceful, quiet and healing surrounded by nature, birdsong.  The bleating of the sheep and the occasional “hello” from  Edith the donkey.  Crisp and dewy mornings to be seen as we snuggled  in our bed, the electric blanket as real bonus.  The welcoming smell of freshly baked bread on arrival and Floyd checking in each morning on his rounds- what more could you ask for.  We will be back!
